One of the passions I meet at the people around me is reading. A question we often ask when we meet is: „What book are you reading, now?” . And depending on the response ,you realize what kind of man is in front of you and what are his concerns.
I do not think there is a man who has not read a single book during his life.I know people who set aside time to read dozens of pages from a book, every day. Thus, these people have read hundreds of books throughout their lives.
Since you are on the pages of this blog, I think ,dear reader ,that you are a passionate reader. I think that you love the book and you consacrate some of your time to this passion.
I do not know how many books you’ve read until now, but what book do you consider to be the best and why? If you would like to recommend someone to read a book, what book would you recommend?
I am looking forward your answers to these questions.

Hi George,
recently I read a book by Ingo Schulze : Adam and Evelyn, honestly did not expect too much from this book, but unfortunately it’s fluidly written, story is quiet simple but tells a lot about the times when DDR was slowly going to it’s end and the story of few young people trying to find better future. Hope you’ll get it also in Romanian language.

Good day.

Although that best book is the Bible, it is hard to recommend it as it has been widely misapprehended. It is wirt in such a way that this occurrence is common (misunderstanding it). Therefore I would recommend books which commend themselves to it. Primarily „things which become sound doctrine” by dwight pentecost (yes, that is his real name). This author changed my life little by little as I would go on to grow in the knowledge of the seeds he had planted. If you wish to grow as a reader, however, purely for the sake of reading, read then, „the monster men” Edgar Rice Burroughs. „out of these ashes” Fredric Brown. The works of Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, the Hercule Poirot stories by Agatha Christie, the Father Brown stories by G.K. Chesterton

Thanks a lot for your recomandation.
But, why do you consider that The Bible is hard to recommend?
Have you ever read the Bible?
ApreciazăApreciat de 2 persoane
I understand it too well, if you visit my blog you will see that, but I hesitate to recommend it for folks tend to believe they know it to be a myth and close themselves off to the recommendation. The first book I listed is a book which opens it up to those who think they know enough about it to put it off. That is what I meant. Of course the translating system could be responsiblle for the perception of what I did say. Thank you
ApreciazăApreciază
Yes, you are right.
There are a lot of people who believe that the Bible is a mith, and this is a cause for rejecting it.
But,there are milions of people who love the Bible, read it daily and for them is the best book.

Imi place raspunsul dvs.

I love reading books and I couldn’t agree with you more when you said that you see what kind of a person someone is due to what they are reading at the moment. I’ve read books from many genres and I probably have favorites from every genre but I have to say that my favorite by far is The Giver Quartet. It’s a fiction story, filled with so many realities and so many true facts about our society that it truly makes you think. Amazing work of Lois Lowry, I always have the books with me because sometimes I just need that hit of „reality fiction” to see the world straight.

My eldest daughter had the book as a college assignment and recommended to me so I am hopefully passing on the legacy of the writer that he be remembered for the person he wanted to be. what books do you like George?
ApreciazăApreciat de 1 persoană
Of course,in the top of the list is The Bible. IT is the only book that satisfies the needs of soul.
Another book that I ‘ve read was ” More than a Carpenter” by Josh McDowell.
But a book that impressed me very much was the book written by Eva Mozes Kor named ” Surviving the Angel of Death: The True Story of a Mengele Twin in Auschwitz „. More details about this You can find on Wikipedia searching: Eva Mozes Kor

Certainly its after all our daily bread and cannot be surpassed by any human writer. I have read More Than a Carpenter – very inspiring. I love war autobiographies so I will certainly look out for that book you mentioned. It makes me sad but it’s a truth we all must know about. since we are talking about non fiction, I have just completed in my youth study group a book by David Platt called Counter Culture, not sure if there’s a translation in Romanian, about living a godly inspired life in our current world. It was a good book for discussion among my youth class.

One of my favourite books are those of the Latin american writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Be it any one of his books.. It is a masterpiece and it had shown me something about the people of a certain age. I do not know whether u will like it or not but if u get a chance do read some of his works. There are translations available too.👍👍👌

Read any one of the books from the Latin american writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez.. It is worth it . I don’t know whether you have read his works already but if u haven’t give it a try and u will know it is quiet good . translations are also available for his works .. But if I consider on recommending one of the favourite books in my native language it is nothing other than ” oru sangeerthanam pole ” by perumbadavam sreedharan. U may find it hard to read this but it is one awesome work. This writer had took an interest into the life of the great writer Fyodor Dostoyevsky and this book is an account on his life.. It is really wonderful..

I feel words are the most important thing in the world, but then again I am an author of fiction and non-fiction. Our words have power. They form images and have the power to make a person laugh, cry, sigh, suck in air, believe and heal. I love so many books it’s hard to pick just one. When I am disheartened and downcast I read Psalms. When I need to feel like a child I read Mary Poppins, Huckle Berry Finn, and Shel Silverstein’s „The Giving Tree.” When I need a book with many things hidden to treasure I read Hemingway and Steinbeck. But most of the time I am rereading the words I wrote for correction, clarity and truth so that I don’t have to do what I am doing now which is 2nd editions! lol

Nice to hear this.
You say that you are an author of fiction and non-fiction.
What books have you written?
ApreciazăApreciază
Hello George! I am the author of two fiction works. Walter the Homeless Man and Polishing Jade. I also write doctrinal books and am getting ready to release the 2nd edition on those. You can find all my books and information on them here under the link „books.” blessings, Tekoa

I love to read fiction, but if there was only one book I could have, it would have to be ‘A New Earth’ by Eckhard Tolle. I will re-read this book over and over for the rest of my life.
ApreciazăApreciat de 1 persoană
It’s very interesting. But, what is the topic of this book?
ApreciazăApreciază
Spirituality (not religion), ego, connection and finding our purpose.
ApreciazăApreciat de 1 persoană
A difficult question, Georges.
Le conte de Monte-Cristo by Dumas. Quatre-vingt-treize by Victor Hugo. The 25th hour by Virgil Gheorgiu. The cancer ward by Soljenitzin. One hundred years of solitude and Love in the times of Cholera by García Marquez… (And change) 😉
Multumesc for the follow.

Hi George,
I happen to be reading „God Help the Child” by Toni Morrison. I am going to write a book review when I’m finished, but I guess you know that already. Would you like to read it with me (or listen to the audiobook)? It can be obtained from audible.com.
If you do decide to listen to the book, let me know what you thought of it. You know where to find me…
Mulțumiri!
